How do people store their digital photos? I am currently building up a huge collection and filling my computer quite quickly! What do other people use and how do you catalogue them?

FWIW, I store mine on my laptop and back them up on an external HD. Currently, I back up every month but may have the shorten the gap once I build up my photos.

I save them in folders and sub-folders - e.g. Holidays Folder, then whereever I've been sub folder.

I've also started to upload a few onto pix.ie but I'm not sure that I'd use this as a back-up or full storage.

I store them on my main desktop and once a month back them all up to a external harddrive, I'm looking to get a second external drive as a fail safe

Important stuff and work , onto 2 external hard drives and 2 sets of brand name DVD's.

I need to keep the computer clear and not clog it up , so 2 external drives are absolutely necessary as one is no safety net at all.

this has been an issue so many times I think we need a link in the one-for-all sticky at the top. It's getting almost as common as "what camera should I buy?" threads :D
