They usually play excellent against Barcelona, especially compared to most other british teams...!

Without checking , I dont think Barce have done particularly well against British teams in recent memory. Liverpool put them out, Celtic done well. Did Newcastle not win or draw at the nou camp? Leeds too?

I think I remember Asprilla getting a hat-trick against them in a memorable night at St. James - 3-2 if I recall correctly?

Edit: God, I love youtube! ... 2 quality headers among his goals and Luis Enrique(HERO!) gets a goal.

Celtic v Barcelona - Celtic by two (anyone predicting a barca win in this tie has not seen their injury list)

Celtic v Barcelona - Celtic by two (anyone predicting a barca win in this tie has not seen their injury list)
Anybody who's predicting a Celtic win in this tie has not realised the quality of Barcas squad.

You saying that 11 of these guys aren't capable of beating Celtic?
Personally I reckon it'll either be a draw or a narrow Barca victory, but to say Celtic will win by 2 because of Barcas injuries is a bit much.

Valdés, Pinto, Puyol, Thuram, Márquez, Milito, Abidal, Sylvinho, Touré, Xavi, Iniesta, Gudjohnsen, Deco, Ronaldinho, Messi, Henry, Eto'o, Giovani.

    Rijkaard:
"Celtic stands for a football culture and a way of playing that is not common in Britain.

"They always place an emphasis on attack, like Arsenal and Manchester United.

"As a result, I expect a nice match but it complicates things for me.

"We cannot afford to make a mistake in Glasgow. That means cutting out any errors because we know Celtic are capable of surprising us and securing a good result to take into the second leg."

I love reading comments like that. Seedorf as well bigging Celtic up today. He loves Celtic. :)

Lads I think Celtic could upset Barce. its at celtic park and Barc arent at 100% of their ability lately so could see it happening.

Sorry, that was a joke! Barca have been absolutely terrible against British teams as of late. Chelsea last year, Liverpool last year. Beaten 1-0 over two legs in 04 by Celtic. I could go on, but I might cry.. =P

Hahah, thats the first time Barca have had Ronnie, Etoo, Henry and Messi fit for a game this season. (excluding preseason)

The year the won it they had to score 3 in the second half of their last group game because of a crap group stage. If anything their European form is exactly business as usual.

Interesting to see how many are going for Barca 'easily' in Parkhead.

    Foolish. Very very foolish.

Man Utd, Liverpool, Blackburn, Milan, Barca, Juve, Valencia, Stuttgart, Benefica and a host of others learnt the lesson not to underestimate the Celtic Park factor.

Very little faith shown in Chelsea by a few people here, I reckon they'll comfortably win, I've them backed at a -1 handicap.

Most seem to be thinking a draw away and then a stuffing at stamford bridge. A lot of players coming back in - not least drogba, might take a game or two to get back into formation. Especially if paired with Anelka.

I can see a stuffing tonight followed by them relaxing at the Bridge. *******kos are the worst side left in the competition by a long way.

Thought they'd be welcoming them back. Unless grant fancies resting them - I know its Ólympiakos but would have thought he'd still play his strongest side.

Question - Why is Ólympia a bad word? Starred out everywhere. Is it to do with the infamous three lettered company that has no place within these walls?

BBC Rayjo reporting that he's resting them.

    Fair enough imo.

Cup Final on Sunday, not the strongest of teams in the CL, he probably reckons he'll come with at least a scoring draw tonight, a win would be a bonus, then do the real stuff in the return leg.

Yeah, I can appreciate his thinking alright.
