Blog is spammed to bits

    I'm using wordpess, i had not logged in or posted in a while and slowly i started getting email notifications about comments,

    i think my email itself is spammed with comment notifications, irony.

    anyway

    There are several ways of tackling comment spam. Akismet may work well, Bad Behavior (sic) works very well and you can always consider adding some form of captcha to the comment form as well.

    true but i have 6 posts so was not expecting over 1,600 comments

    Total: 2922 hits and 1316 unique. seem odd aswell, i take it their all spam hits.?



    edit: btw i need my api key for this but have no idea what my username is for wordpress?

    You have to register on wordpress.com

    As for the number of comments ... The trackback and comment scripts on my personal blog get hit thousands of times per day :)
