Ryanair Online Check-In

I'm flying with Ryanair to Nice on Saturday morning, its the first time I haven't checked in, in the Airport as I bought the flights with Internet check-in. Now I'm wondering whats the craic with it? I know that you log in online and type in the confirmation number you get when book the flights (When you're checking in online, you can do it Max 2 days, min 2 hrs beforehand).

What I'm really wondering is; Do we just print out the sheets you get when you check in online and then just go straight up to security at Dublin Airport?

I think this is all down next week and you won't get that "Online Check-In Email"

I got an e-mail saying that you won't be able to check in online but if it has been booked you won't have to pay at Airport

Hmmm, it brings up an interesting connundrum;

It's 4 hours beforehand from what i could see. I just did it for a flight I have in the morning. It said up to 4 hours before scheduled departure time.

The gist I make of it is that you can Check In online 2 days beforehand up to a minimum of 4 hrs before the flight.

Typically you can check in from 48 hours to 4 hours before hand and yes - you simply bring you and and your hand luggage straight to security!


But as the website is down this weekend the following applies:

Online Check-in - passengers will not be able to check-in online between 01:00hrs on the 22nd February until 23:00hrs on the 25th February 2008. Passengers traveling on the 23/24/25 February who are unable to check-in online can check-in at the airport and will not be charged the airport check-in fee.

DON'T FORGET you also need to have the details of the card you booked the flight with as well as the reference number to check-in online.

Yes flew yesterday with them. its 48 hours up to 4 hours before. Forgot to check in online and got charged €8 for the privilege of using their check in desk even though didn't have any bags. Got charged on the way back again as they would not book me both ways from Dublin. Couldn't believe it. And if you have a bag you pay a bag charge and the check in charge! You also have to come out of the check in queue, go to their service desk, pay the check in fee and requeue at check in desk.

i used it last weekend. its really handy if you don't need to check in any luggage. You can just print off your boarding pass the day before your flight and go straight to the security check.

Also look out for priority boarding. I got it automatically for online check-in and got to skip the entire queue at the gate!

You DONT need the card details of the person who purchased the flight as they may not be the person travelling on the itinerary. Just the reference number is needed.

OK. Here's what ACTUALLY happens when it's up.

You fill in your flight reference number. You will then be asked to provide the passport numbers of all travelling on that ref.

You will save €8.00 per person/per flight and automatically get priority boarding, also for free.

Ryanair do not want people at the check in desk anymore so this is why it is not an easy process. They want to achieve 50% online check in so it is going to either get more difficult still or more expensive.

You got charged 8 euro because you fcuked up and required an extra service, you didn't get charged 8 euro for any privilege. There is a free service available called Online Check In. The passenger does not need to re-queue for a bag or check in if they paid online at the time of booking either.

Check in desks are are luxury now with budget airlines, we better get used to it because everyone will be doing it soon. Why should I pay more to provide a service for someone else's stupidity.

Does anyone know if it is possible to check in at the airport for a ryanair flight 3 or 4 hours before the flight?

I have bags to check in and want to watch the rugby in the airport after checking in.

Last time I tried this I was told that check in is only open 2 hours before the departure time,

any additional info is greatly appreceiated,
