New Sky dish?

Lately my Sky reception has gotten terrible (only a handful of channels come through now), so I went up on the roof to check the dish and surprise surprise, it's completely rusted. How do I go about getting a new dish? I presume Sky will charge me a ridiculous amount for one, so is there anywhere else I could get one?

You could try a local independent and perhaps replace the dish with a triax or similar which would be more durable. I'm guessing the sea air is the culprit in your location?

Yes I'm right next to the sea so it's pretty damaged. The bracket is just made up of flakes of rusted metal right now. Oh well, it's lasted a good 7 or so years now so it's not so bad. I'll see what I can find locally.

If I were you I'd "call to cancel" first. If you've been with them for 7 years I'd surprised if they'd want you to cancel for the sake of a free dish replacement.

Solid dishes last longer than mesh. The sky dishes are simply the cheapest Sky could get made.

You can paint them with hammerite, but no use once badly gone.
