    Brian,
    To quote from their webpage:

    * Total Charges include Damage Waiver (including Theft Protection), Third Party Liability, Road Fund Licence, and VAT.

Additional protection products may be purchased. Learn more

The €20 you refer to is the additional protection to reduce the excess.
Standard cost from any car rental company.
You do not HAVE to buy this additional product.

Great spot OP. Serious bargain prices.

I've always paid the twenty euro ,I was under the impression it covered me for someone pulling a mirror off the car.
Or the car getting slightly damaged.

I am open to correction but this is my understanding of it:

With the standard rental conditions, as per the specials above, you are liable to pay an excess on any claim that is made against the car you hire.

This excess amount is variable depending on car type and where you rent it from.Typically, for a compact car, its set to a maximum of between €400 - €800.

The €20/day excess protection product basically wipes this excess liability in case of claim.

If you rent a car for more than 5 days a year you should consider these people.

For about €100 they provide excess protection for any amount of rentals for 1 year.

It does protect you. But on the other hand: if you rent a car for 2 weeks you end up paying 280€ extra for the insurance, no matter whether you damage the car or not. How much is a mirror then IF you need to have it replaced?
It may be a good idea to spend the additional money if you need only a short term hire and don't want to pay the excess of (if I remember correctly) 700€ in case of a crash. However, the longer you have the car the smaller the difference becomes. I'd rather take the small risk of paying 700€ and save 280€ on the spot. It's a lot cheaper even if you happen to crash every third car :D
    Regards,
    Holger

    From their website:
"Not valid if vehicle is rented from a location within 150km of usual residence (for example, if you live in London, you are not covered to rent a vehicle in London. The rental location must be more than 150km away from your London home)."
Apart from that a very good offer...

This is a very good deal thats been posted ,be prepared for the speech you'll get about the insurance though.

It doesn't really say anything when you book online ,but you'll get all this when you pick up the car. Plus ,they have your credit card details.

Yah the 150 km is the only downside.
However, i use rental cars abroad quite a bit, so this policy gives me peace of mind and allows me to shop around to find the bottom line cheapest rental without worrying about the small print regarding excess etc.

It doesn't take many days rental to justify the annual charge from this crowd.
    A good product indeed.
