Looking on different websites where I have advertised for a puppy I have noticed this same breeder advertising her puppies from different parts of the country ie.longford dublin wicklow wexford I am confused about this,so can anyone tell me what its all about:confused: I advertised looking for a certain breed of puppy and would purchase on condition of a vet check from my vet
within 24hrs,But not one reply from anyone agreeing to this arrangment.Have I worded it wrong? Or are there no breeders of Shih-tzus willing to stand over there pups?:(

It's very likely you're dealing with Puppy Farms here - steer clear of anyone who won't allow the pups to be screened before purchase.

If you're insistant on getting a Shih-tzu, go with registered breeders only, insist on seeing the mother and their living conditions, and do your background research into common genetic defects in that particular breed.

Better still, go to your nearest pound and save a dog from a life in a kennel (or worse) where you'll get a healthy dog, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped!

    Hi Betty

On the 17th of March and on the 22nd of March, there are quite large open breed shows at the National Show Centre, Cloghran, Co Dublin. PM me and I can give you directions heading from Wicklow. There should be a good number of Shih-tzu breeders showing their dogs there as it's a popular breed. It would give you a chance to check out the breeders dogs and talk to the breeders. You may find that some only breed wanting their dogs to go to show homes, or some breed with family purpose in mind too. You could then arrange a visit with a couple breeders to see how they keep their dogs at home to see if they really are good breeders.

Or, you can ring the Irish Kennel Club Society Contact:
    Shih Tzu Club of Ireland
    Mr. Marshall Craig
Hazelville, Casement Road, Bandon, Co. Cork.
    (023-42210)

He may be able to give you a list of breeders. Good luck!

Thanks for all that info;)i contacted the IKC a number of weeks ago and they said they would contact me with a list of breeders, but so far I have heard no word.I have contacted the administrator who owns the site as to why this breeder has so many puppies for sale in different parts of the country ,he said he would look into it,but she is advertising even more now than ever.

I have reported so many people on that site for advertising puppies with "Can deliver Xmas Eve", "ideal Xmas gift", but they just ignored me. They have a policy against people advertising any of the bull breeds, apparently, but there are Staffies on it regularly.

I saw the ads where that breeder you are talking about has listed herself as being located in a number of counties... :(

If it is DD then they wont let me advertise my rescue anymore as I have Bull Breeds. I complained and received a rather unpleasant answer.

It is not the bull breeds that I have a problem with, at all. I love staffies. It's the fact that their "policies" are not enforced. In the case of bull breeds, rather than screen by breed as they alledge they do, they should screen by the person doing the ad. EGAR as I am sure you know, bull breeds are quite popular with your Anto's and Damo's. Not all people that own them are scumbags, not by a long shot- but the scumbags are usually easy to spot. "Stooory budd, 8 staffes for sale, champ pedigree, can deliver, look deadly on a chain, give us a buzz" type ads!!!! :) So these should be weeded out. There are probably plenty of good bull breed breeders being discriminated against on that site, while bad breeders of other breeds can advertise freely.

As usual in Ireland, blaming the breed is the quick fix solution, rather than clamp down on the bad owners :(

Yeah, well tell me about it.... I deal with those muppets nearly every day: How ya Missus, any Pits for sale there?

But I am sick an tired of being labelled an antisocial drug dealing prostitute or whatever else they have in store because I help Bull Breeds...

Sorry for hijacking your thread, OP :o

a friend of mind has 2 bull terriers and they are the most loving dogs, her young toddlers love them.
Keep up the good work EGAR:)here is the email I received from D.D

Thank you for letting us know about this. I will investigate why this person is putting up all these litters at the same time.

Please report this also to the ISPCA, as they investigate all suspect puppy farmers.

    Kind Regards,
