Hopefully one of you very knowledgable people will be able to help.

Basically, I placed an order with Bodybuilding.com about a week ago. Order arrived in Dublin and customs sent it back.:(

    Contents as follows:

    (2) NOW L-Glycine, 1 Lb
    (6) S.A.N. Infusion, 2.42 Lbs.
    (4) Higher Power Micronized Glutamine 1000, 1000 Grams
    (4) Higher Power Micronized Creatine, 1000 Grams

I have placed several orders before with no problems. Anyone else have problems with customs? Pretty p1ssed right now...

Oh and customs have not given a reason as to why they sent it back.

Any order arriving at Dublin customs with BB.com or "Higher Power, inc." (their supplement trade name) as a return address will be impounded and held in the clearance cage until the medical officer can check the contents (this can take weeks).

Both those company names are on the Irish customs watch list.

The MO's often haven't a rashers what they're doing, and as a result regularly send stuff back that they have no reason to, and just as regularly let stuff through with ingredients on the banned list of medicines.

In my opinion ordering from BB.com is too much hassle now, for the reasons stated above.

According to the medicine board while they were rifling our shop, they have increased their presence at customs and will seize any boxes coming in with american sports nutrition labelling, especially BB.com and Biotech. They have an axe to grind with the these companies in particular as both have completely ignored letters, faxes and emails being sent to them from the IMB. Therefore in reality BB.com etc already know their boxes will be seized on arrival to Ireland but continue to take your cash and send boxes as its not their problem if customs seize it or not.

How did you ship it? Did you use international post or a courier?

Used international post even though courier was cheaper as I knew I'd get stung for 20% customs duty using courier.

The only drawback to international post is that there's no record of who sent it back (according to customs ;)).
