Cost of performer??

    Really dont know if this is in the right place. Sorry if its not but..
    Im looking to hire a performer for a private party.
    He has a little experience, has been on TV but isnt VERY well known, he has an album on the way out, but is currently only building a fanbase, I reckon about 10/100 people would know him.

    Would anyone have an idea of how much I should be expecting to pay ??
    Just for the preformance, not including travel or accomodation costs.

    You reckon 10 in every 100 would know him? Is that what you mean?

    Are you asking him to play covers or his own music? Is he with other musicians and are they to be included in is fee?

    Yea thats what i mean sorry didnt type that properly !
    He sings on his own, and mostly covers probably as he has only started out hasnt got a lot of his own music, so previously when he has performed he has done covers.

    If he is performing solo cover gigs then he is getting anywhere from €100 to a few times that to a decent crowd. Only the more well known cover solo acts pull in the €500 to €1000, unless it's weddings or corporate gigs.

    If you say that he is known by 10% of the population, wellthat is good going on his part!! So maybe he does warrant the bigger purse as a result?

    Thats what i was thinking, the more experience the higher the cost ?
    Im totally stumped at the moment cause when i contacted his PA SHE asked ME how much my budget was ?
    I didnt want to give her a huge figure and have her charge that if its totally OTT, but then again i didnt want to give a totally unrealistic figure and have them laugh, but considering i have no experience with these kinda of things...........

    I'll be happy any advice privatly by PM. Whatever you do ,don't mention their name here publicly. As forthe PA asking what you budget is? Standard practise for an artist who is going out for various fees.
