Ryanair - checked baggage

    Hi,

I normally travel with ryanair using web check-in.

I'm booking a flight with checked baggage, is it possible for someone else on the booking to use web check-in (as offered on the confirm booking page) or do they need to pay for airport check-in also?

The following is stated in the web check-in rules:
    # Please note that the online check-in cannot be used by the following passengers:

    * Passengers travelling with checked baggage or on the same reservation as a passenger travelling with checked baggage.

    Thanks

Nevermind it adds the fee on automatically.

As with all things Ryanair the clue is in "pay for".

It seems if anyone person in a group has to check-in in person ie with baggage everybody in the group has to check-in in person, web check-in for some of the group is not an option. Another nice little earner.

The only way around this is to make individual bookings. It does not cost any extra.

Just looking at the cheap ryan air prices advertized in the uk papers this week ' for as little as £5 which is great but add on the £18 odd tax / extra charges + £8 insurence ,then depending on what time of the day you depart it can vary from 1p to £14.99 so assuming you go with the latter it all ads up to arond £39.99 so i suppose you could say it's still relatively
    cheap

Ps - if you include check in baggage add anything between £8/16 extra

Separate bookings is the way around this, my wife and daughter are booked for summer holidays as web check-in / priority boarding with carry-on baggage only (will be able to grab us some decent seats), myself and the young lad booked separately for the same flight, check in the bags at the airport.

No doubt, that is the way to do it but do Ryanair advise you to do this?
