I'm heading to Australia first & then on from there. What vaccinations should I get, should I get them here before I leave or should I get them along the way?

It depends on what countries you will be going to.

You'd be advised to get them before you go as some vaccinations have to be administered a couple of weeks before you travel.

I went to Cuba last year and had to get Polio, Hep A, Tetanus, Typhoid and Dyptheria.

Got them done in the Tropical Medical Bureau just off Grafton St. It was a bit expensive but better safe than sorry and I think you can claim it back in your taxes if you fill out the Med 1 form.

Don't need to go to your Doctor?

    No.

You meet with the doctor at the TMB. You tell them where you are going and they prescribe the vaccines you are likely to need.

Then you go down the hall to the nurse who gives them to you.

All in all it cost me €140 to see the doc and get the vaccines (it would have been €150 but I have a student card.)
