    Just a question guys.

Would you pay to have your Ironing done?

My brother uses a service where he drops it off and collects it the next day.

Would there be a market for it here?

Sorry to burst your entrepreunarial balloon.

Having said that, if you can do it for cheaper than a euro a shirt, you have my business....

For a euro a shirt I'd expect you to be in the kitchen cooking me a slap up meal, with wine...

    Gurries are welcome to it!

My Aunt used to do this. People would drop it off and collect it.

I don't own an iron and haven't touched one since I moved out of home so no, I wouldn't pay to have it done.

That being said if you know some people who would you could make some extra money off it I guess!

I'll ask her later. Or I might leave it till Thursday... that's exactly the kinda question a woman wants to hear on Valentines Day!

    BUT NO!!

I do my ironing on a Sunday morning, while watching Something For The Weekend (BBC2) and I would feel guilty just sitting watching TV at that time of the day soo.... I iron everything in sight.

P.S. I don't do socks. Unless there really creased.

Ironing & eating a curry at the same time could be a potential domestic disaster.

PS. Creased socks? Is there even such a thing?!?!

You know there is something about the smell of a laundrette ;) (not as good as the smell of a curry but not bad). Perhaps re the business idea you could have your enterprise located in a laundrette just beside a curry house.
*Could you see if johonny Depp wants a job with you then I might pop in!

What about a Lynx "scent of laundrette" spray? Drive the yummy mummys MAD!

Ye see thats were ye guys get it all wrong. Dont mess with a proven winning combo on the ironing business plan to draw in the punters. That other stuff is potent, (and not in a good way) No doubt its highly flamable in the laundrette as well.(health and safety ;))

If this is the beginning of a working partnership can I manage ye? Now I am rubbish at ironing and hoovering. However, I can work on a domestic goddesses' angle for the name of the business, draw up a business plan, work out how to share of the profits,(hem) and send out a few flyers. Hey presto. :D

This ain't The Cuckoo's Nest people. Please keep discussion on ironing and / or ironing related activities such as ironing, speed-ironing, extreme-ironing or freestyle ironing.

Do you reckon extreme ironing might be ironing clothes when they are still on the person. There may be a SMall niche market for that. T shirt wearers would be on the real extreme end of the market. ;)
Takola what can I say if the ironing doesnt work......may need to go to plan B.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,138 ✭✭✭takola

Can plan B be freestyle ironing tuppence, sueme? I think i could take a dab at that.

Jeans with one leg ironed. T-shirts with holes the shape of irons in them! We could become iron artists! :D Make a fortune!

Pm your proposal Takola, because, frankly, I can't see a market for it.

    Now Mobile Extreme Ironing...
