I heard that Zhifco is teaching a class in Hercs on Sundays but I wasnt able to get in contact with anyone about this. Does anyone know anything about it. Do u have to be a member of Hercs or can you pay as you go? And how much, what time etc?!

Also are there any other clubs in South Dublin that teach wrestling???

    Much appreciated.

I was talking to Zhifco a couple of months ago and he basically said if you ewant to train in Hercules you have to be a member. He said even he himself pays the membership and he's a coach. It's 65 euro for 3 months (iirc) so it's cheaper than your typical mma training. I'm not sure exactly what days wrestling is on and which days Zhifco is teaching

Wrestling training is tues and thurs in hercules,7.30 to 9pm, Zhivko generally takes the class, sometimes Yuri.
You are allowed one free class/visit then you must join, the club are pretty strict about this. New members must pay the first year in advance afaik, 300 euro.
This fee entitles you to all the wrestling you will need and all the weights you can lift for 12 months.
If you want to try it out pm me and I'll sign you in for your first visit, I won't be there til next tuesday though.

How do you feel training in Herc has benefited you submission wrestling game Eoghan?

If anything my training in hercs has hindered rather than helped my sub wrestling game, if I was spending my tuesday evenings training bjj instead of freestyle wrestling I would probably have a more rounded game aswell as better submitting skills, eg I might be able to work off my back better.
In comps, it has given me an edge at the start and also helped me in fighting for top.
Having said that, I train wrestling because I like it as a sport in itself.

I find wrestling a huge benifit to the ground game in MMA.

In fact, I dont even have a guard game, just a half guard and wrestle game. haha Sad but true. Once you start training with bigger better wrestlers in subs then you get your guard back (or start to develop one (me)) so its all good. (I've even start flying armbaring people haha)

Plus it makes you way stronger and fitter than sub wrestling does but there you go.

    Peace
