my god i wish rte replaced the clueless george hook with gerry thornley. He is the new eamon dunphy of rugby in waiting.he is so entertaining to watch (im always in stitches with the stuff he comes out with)and his knowledge base is 100X that of George "munster way or no way" Hook,he has everything hook has and the fact that he actually knows rugby makes him my choice anyday

Why have RTE started giving sports presenting jobs to so many women? They seem to show up at rugby, soccer and GAA. Is it some new policy to get viewers with "eye candy"? If so, they need to refine their recruitment programme.
I was disgusted to see her presenting Against the Head. She looks so uncomfortable on screen and has no bonhomie with the players or pundits. They didn't show any AIL either, did they?

+1 not cute at all and she is waiting to ask her next question of Gerry not paying much attention to what he says.

Agree with all of the above. She doesn't appear to have any knowledge or interest in the game.

I'd rather have somebody with a head like an old boot, but who knows what they are talking about, rather than an average looking, but ignorant bird any day of the week.

RTE has a noble record to date of picking substance over style i.e Marty Morrissey, Eamonn Dunphy, Linda Martin etc. so why are the rugby public being inflicted with the yet another inane and vacuous presenter. Have they not learnt from the Ryle Nugent appointment??

She used to be a reporter with that blimp Trevor Welch on TV3....has little or no knowledge of sport (like most people @ TV3).

It's the TV3 way - show as much 'totty' as possible and see if they get any ratings

It's just another case of 'Loganitis'. Lets have some chick who's good looking and has a spurious connection to rugby because she's hitched herself to a former player front a show...Ridiculous..

I really wish the makers of these shows would get it into their thick skulls that while we like looking at 'lovely laydees' as much as the next man, when it comes to rugby we would prefer someone who knows something about the game....

Why not get a former club/international female rugby player to front a show if they must have a woman... It'd tick all the boxes...hot and knowlegeable...now that I would watch...

I'm don't want to seem sexist, this is a complaint about RTE's policy not women, but... Woman presenters on RTE talk shows are crap! I can't think of one with any bit of charisma at all... They all look the same, have the same serious faces (probably due to RTE's makeup people who seem to be straight out of makeup college)
    She looks so uncomfortable
I agree! But I think the same of most of the women presenters on RTE! Lucy kennedy, Grainne Seoige (or is that TV3), Sharon Ní Bheoláin... I don't know much about Miriam o'Callaghan maybe she's different...
As much people hate Tom McGuirk, at least he has a smooth kind of flow to his presenting...
