When my brother asked me to be his best man, his second request was that I not take shots on the day because I'd have to make sure the wedding went alright, because he'd wouldn't be able to concentrate on getting stuff organised on the day. Of course I ignored him, managed to shoo these before we went down to the ceremony.

    and

I liked them, just thought I'd see what you guys thought.

More on flickr, but they were just silly one for the family really, pretty proud of the two above though.

I saw these on Flickr a few days back I think.

Anyways, I really like the first one as a portrait, wouldn't think it's a wedding show though. Would much prefer if the whole light was in though!

Yeah wish I hadn't cropped out the light as well, would have made a cool counter balance thing, ah well.
    Next time :P

First one is great and the second is why mens pockets should be sewn up for a wedding :)

Kilts are the way forward tbh!

    Did someone say kilts? Yay!

Paudie I think the second is fab. You should do a fashion shoot, for a bit of fun. very quirky, I love the style.

I think the second of the 2 above is the better.

And I have to say - Hot. Kudos.

I quite like the second shot, it has a fisheye type of look about it.
The first shot is cool but I feel the lights are too close/in your face. It's probably just because their cutout though :)

Open bar at the wedding? lol

Not bad at all considering the photography was your second job of the day ! ahem!

#1 - i think i would have turned your dude around a little more; reason being that his left half of the body to the shoulder looks a little like he had American football body armour ;o) I think to position the guy a little more turned to the side may have helped in terms of the perspective on that side of the body which i think just looks a little 'block-y'.

#2 - is really nice. A suggestion would have been to use some more depth of field to obscure the background which is a little typical in terms of weddings (eh.. somewhat messy and oh that wallpaper! :D ). I do like the light source (large window perhaps?) to the the right of the chap - it makes for nice illumination. Lots of opportunity to position and reposition the subject at different angles.

I think of them both, #2 is probably aesthetically the better (only in my opinion though!)

    Cheers.

Bren that's my sister. Watch it. :P
I shot at f2.8 so there's not much else I could have done with the DOF really, it was all on the fly, didn't plan too much really.
Saw the light from the window (you were right Cat, to my brothers right) and thought he looked pretty good in the suit so I went for it.

I'd love to do a proper shoot though, I've lots of stuff planned out, I even have a few lights to use. Just need willing subjects :)
It's so much easier shooting people who stand still instead of flying past on a wave :P

    Thanks for all the replies.
