    Hi,
I had an eye test this morning in a certain opticians and although I wear a glasses for a very minor subsription I was told my eyesight has worsened alittle and I will need stronger lenses. I said to her to use the same frames but to put this anti glare coating ion them. The optician said it would cost €99 for the new lenses. Does this sound right or is she ripping me off. I wuld have thought new lenses would be alot cheaper.

    Hiya Billyhead
Same story over the weekend, in Galway. New lens (varifocal) cost me €145 !
    That's a bit steep.

Yup - depends on your strength lens, and what you want on them / if you get them thinned or not.
Mine I get thinned, and the antiglare/anti scratch (there's a package) and I mine usually cost upwards of €200

You can shop around, even buy glasses online if you know your prescription, anything to get the cheapest possible.

What gave you that idea? Friends with glasses? Adverts?

It's something you wear on your face every single day... I've never understood why people like to skimp on them.

Specsavers put the lenses in a pair of glasses last year for €40. No coatings though.
