French air traffic controllers begin strike
    11/02/2008 - 10:33:25

Paris air traffic controllers began a five-day strike today, causing flight delays and cancellations.

About half of flights at Orly airport were cancelled, France’s civil aviation authority said, adding that only domestic flights were called off entirely.

International flights and trips to France’s overseas territories went ahead, albeit with delays of about one hour.

Travellers at Charles de Gaulle, the larger of the two Paris airports, faced delays but no cancellations.

The civil aviation authority asked travellers to contact their airlines directly for flight information.

The CGT union, which plans to continue the strike through to Friday, is protesting over a reorganisation plan that would bring all of Paris’ air traffic controllers to work at a single site.

Flights cancelled as French controllers continue strike
    12/02/2008 - 09:39:57

A second day of strikes by French air traffic controllers forced officials to cancel about half the flights at Paris’s second-biggest airport, Orly, today, civil aviation authorities said.

Traffic at the capital’s largest airport, Charles de Gaulle, was not affected, aviation authorities said.

Most of the services cancelled at Orly were domestic ones. Of the flights not called off, many were running about 20 to 30 minutes late.

The CGT union, which plans to continue the strike until Friday, is protesting about a reorganisation plan which would bring all of Paris’s air traffic controllers to work at a single site.

Again, it'll be over by the weekend.

CDG flights aren't affected, only internal and Orly flights.
