That's the sort of picture that got me into photography in the first place :)

Lovely atmosphere, you've done well to capture something of the feeling of the place I think. A couple of things, just suggestions though...

Watch out for the white balance when you're shooting in the woods because the camera/software tries to cancel out all the green and usually pushes up your magenta, so you end up with purple tree trunks and branches instead of brown. i don't think it's too much of a problm here, just something to watch out for. The purply tinge round the branches that are against the sky is probably more likely from a bit of chromatic aberration - I got it a lot with the kit lens.

Something that's bugging me though, i really like how it looks when i scroll it off the screen and see it as a square crop from the top. have a wee look at it like that and see if you like it... you keep the nice rays of sunshine and get rid of a bit of clutter fromthe foreground, and that expanse of road/path at the front.

I think I noticed Al saying about your other one too, it'd look lovely and rich if you brought up the blacks a bit more.

Wish I was out shooting today, it was gorgeous! It's forecast to last all week, so keep 'em coming ;)

I just tried that, and you're absolutly right! looks quite a bit nicer as there's no blown out sky too. I really like it :)

    Good job!

Thanks for the post Elven. I've never really noticed the fringing before in any of my shots, but it's a bit visible in this shot and quite noticeable in the other shot I posted. I'm not sure about the crop, I like it but I do quite like the foreground. I'd be more willing to crop the top off and keep the bottom...

I might reprocess it to bring out the darks better another time.

    Thanks again!
