Projector Throw

I am looking at the Optoma HD65 for projection onto a 1.9m screen. I'd like to ceiling-mount the unit about 4m back from the screen, but the Optoma website says that for a screen this size, the distance should be in the 2.57-2.82m range. Anyone know if it can throw a 1.9m (73") image from 4m back, or will have have to mount the projector in the middle of the ceiling? I've never used a projector before, so I'm not sure what the limiting factors are.

Also, can anyone tell me if it's OK to power a projector from the lighting circuit?
I think I read somewhere that it's generally not a good plan.

    Thanks.

I am afraid the Calculations are correct. I am Buying the same Projector but I am having Similar problems with trying to position it the closest i can get it to the scren is 4m but according to the calculatior this will give me a 120" Image at a Minimum but because of space constraints the biggest screen I can Manage as about 108" which leave me with an image oustide the screen.

This seems to be the biggest draw back with this projecter (limited zoom lens) other than that its a a great allrounder

I am getting it in the UK for about 420 pounds (Bargain)

    Hey guys,

Might be worth asking the supplier of the projector if it is compatible with the Optoma Conversion lens. We've installed a number of the optoma commerical range which normally have a 2.0-2.4:1 Throw Ratio, but with the conversion lens this changes to a 1.6:1 Throw ratio bringing the projector about 30% closer to the screen!

Not too sure if this lens is compatible with the HT PJ Range??? Worth checking.
