I hope to get 40 runners but cosidering making the entry€150 with 1 re-buy or 1 add-on at €150 to attract more player's in.

Last weekend we had 18 player's i reckon €330 is to steep last year we had 45 runners for €150 entry with rb or add-on at €100.

I keep you posted if the buy changes.

    Regards,
    Ken.

I think this is a good idea Ken.
Most will have a shot for €150 and a lot of players will have the rebuy or top up with them incase.
But...If its €150 buy in...dont you lose out on €15 on each player?
If so, great to see you putting the players first.
A lot more clubs could (very unlikely to learn) learn from this.

I played the last €250 f/o and was amazed at the level of service and food + wine for the break.....Will be down a lot more in the future and got the same feedback from ALL the Waterford players.:D

On one last note: Maybe the introduction of Antes would help with the time preasure factor for the next €250 f/o

hey guys, is it worth the bother to go into the qualifier tonight. Free entry, but presume it's one of those mad crapshoots where you get 1k and the blinds rocket up?

NO crapshots jimbling the structure gives good enough play and the 20 treble add-on will help.

By the way 4 tickets added you can't beat value.

    See you tonight.

    Ken,
Whats the numbers looking like for the Irish Open Sat' tomorrow?

And in light of recent threads, Is it ticket only for prizes? Or can cash be taken?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 619 ✭✭✭Macau Cork

Looks like 27 - 35 player's ticket only but you can sell the ticket on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,612 ✭✭✭kakak1

how many did you get for this last night & any results

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,836 ✭✭✭connie147

82 runners, every-one had 10-12 bb's from 3 tables out, one move poker from there on. Dont know who won it. €22k prize-pool.

Any oneday tourney with 80+ runners and the blinds based on time is going to end up like this at some stage.......

People complained last month when it spilled over to a second day.

Have to agree, its only the second addition of this tournament and I imagine they'll have found a middle ground for the third on. I hear they've upped the guarantee to €12.5k as well !! Its alright for them Kerry boys being able to stay in bed all day but I much prefer this being a one day event.

    yep you're correct

many people won't play (inc me) if it's a two-day game
many people complained about the 20 min levels etc at this game and said they won't be back - "€250 does not = 20 min levels"

    i dunno!?

maybe ken might tweek it again for next month - maybe 25 mins the whole way?

the only real solution for having a one day game (as in 8/9 hours of play) with a good structure is to have a finish time and distribute the pool via the remaining stacks - now there's a novel idea!!

my only complaint was them cork boy sure can shout - one fella, sitting on my immediate right, hit a miracle river and i was stone deaf for ten mins +

I played an excellent game, I bluffed one pot with 8-high - the only pot I won!! My exit strategy was conducted with perfection - it was 8 minutes to the break, there was a raise and an accidental call - i shipped the lot (as in 4.5k) with 75o (it was a great year) and of course i was "outdrawn" - this got me to the front of the food queue where i managed to consume:

A smoked chicked salad & bread
    a glass of wine
    A curry with chips
    Some filo prawns
    icecream with while chocolate
    A glass of bear
    mint icecream with chocolate
    A coffee

I would have paid the €275 for the dinner, but i tipped well (thanks to number 23 on the roulette wheel)

anyway cya next month ken and all :)
