Looking for creative guitarist in Dublin

Hi all, I`m looking for a creative guitarist with song ideas. I`ve been around the block in the music biz, as manager, A&R, former musician, etc. and have contacts to help make it happen. 3 mates of mine have asked me to help them form a band. They`re all of a decent standard and not looking for a virtuoso player, (or Steve Vai soundalike), just someone into alt melodic rock-pop whose tunes would get daytime airplay on the likes of Phantom FM.

They`re a female singer, a male bass player and a female drummer, varying in age from 19 to 28. We`d like to form a 5-piece, based in Dublin, with the 2 extra members being a lead guitarist and rhythm guitarist (or keys) backing vocalist. We want it to be fun but also with an ambitious edge to try and "make it" in this chronically competitive market. My years of experience may be of some help in that regard.

We`re not trying to reinvent the wheel and become "arthouse" rockers. We just want to connect with a big audience via good songs, memorable chord progressions, a driving rhythm and decent meaningful lyrics. Melodic rock-pop in a nutshell. Once the right line-up is in place, I`ll get cracking on the promotion front and try to "sell" the sound to labels, publishers, radio stations and the music press. If it works, then great. And if it doesnt, then at least we`ll have had some fun along the way...

    Hey

I logged on today to post a thread called 'Looking for a creative guitarist' but you beat me to it! Where are you based? I like the sound of your set up and ambitions.

I'm a 22 year old guitarist with band and recording experience.

I'm willing to put in the time to make this work. As for radio friendly hits, one of my songs was on today FM yesterday *head expands* :)

seriously though, if you're interested, drop me a mail on profcreamy AT gmail DOT com

I'd be interested but would have to wait till the summer.

I'm 19, playing for roughly 7 and a half years.

Mostly into The Audition, Rufio etc but its varries from real acoustic stuff to heavy, give me a shout anyway if your interested.

Christ that is everything within music i hate summed up in one post.

I would sooner stuff my guitar sideways up my arse than join a band that are just getting thrown together by a man in the middle in order to make money...

Don't get me wrong.. i'd be all for making a living from playing music .. but good god .. at least make some good music..

I already have this bands first single playing in my head and it hasn't been recorded yet...

Funny enough i am thinking it is going to sound like every other pop-rock band that is in the charts at the moment ...

Ouch .. please ... i can feel the frustration in my elbows!!

I'd have to agree with Solo - you say you want to connect with the audience blah blah blah, I thought passionate musicians initially play for themselves - & that the whole 'audience' thing is a bi-product to a love of playing...? It all sounds a bit 'get famous quick' to be honest, maybe you should call Louis Walsh if it's instant Big Time that you want - my understanding was that the early days were the most memorable, when all you had was three chords & a dream! Your plan is the antithesis to what I feel & appreciate about music - for the believers it's not considered a product, its a religion...

Since when was this an opinions page?

I'm sure if he was looking for feedback he'd have asked.
