These look like good prices, has anyone used them. I know they type i was looking for were over €8 in a popular DIY store but €4.45 here.

That is a good price for that particular type alright. The postage from there site is a bit steep though unless you spend over €30.

Plan to buy 9 so that should make postage more economical.

While on this topic does anyone know of an outlet that sells energy saving bulbs that can be used with dimmer switches?

Homebase or Atlantic should have them. Depends on where you go i suppose. I saw some in homebase in Sligo.

Expensive though and you "might" need different dimmer switches also.

And if you venture over the border you'll get phillips energy saving bulbs 3 for £1 in sainsburys. 11w (brightness of 60w) Handy for all those lamps around the house.

Works out at approx. 45c each

Thanks to Saruman & SemperFidelis for their response. Will go on the hunt. I need these as most of my switches are dimmers and as the dimmable ones have only recently come onto the market, that's the way I have to go. Thanks again!

    B&Q Fonthill are doing 11W for 99c ( 49C +50c WEE )

    8000h 600 lumens Philips Genie

They have others for €1.50 , and even more expensive 11W philips bulbs so check the box numbers

Superquinn also do 11W for €1.50, but the are bulb shaped 'cos they have a frosted glass covering - come in powder blue box, claim on the box is 6000h , because they are bulb shape they are more astheticly pleasing in normal holders

my quest to get 30W of CF (on or more bulbs) in uplighters continues..
