    Hello

This may seem like a trivial topic to some............Valentines is coming up and I have been with my gf for the last 8 weeks..................My question is what should I do? I dont want to go overboard or not do enough.

Here is what I am doing at the mo. Bringing to her a nice restaurant and sending her flowers. My problem is the whole card issue!!!!..............Is the attached card with the flowers (normal small one you get with any bouquet) enough or should I get another card?

If I need to get another one what sort? Don’t want to get one declaring my undying love and frighten her off (not in love but really like her) and what do I say? Don’t what to right some cheesey roses are red stuff…………… I dont have a clue!!!!

    Help needed.

    Thanks

Yeah get her another one, there are plenty of light hearted, not overly soppy cards out there. "For the best girlfriend in the world" etc

    ok mate, calm down! lol...

8 weeks is nothing so dont think that she is going to be expecting the world from you, at the end of the day its the thought that counts yea?

so giving her flowers with a nice cute message on the inside will be plenty...valentine cards are by the majority disgustingly tacky so the small card in the flowers will be fine :)

and the dinner is a nice cherry on the cake....

your not going overboard with both these things.. dont worry :D

have a good night mate ..

You're only mistake here is worrying.

Big extra card has a plus of going that bit extra.

Just the small discrete card has a plus of being understated yet clear.

Go with whichever of the two of them seems more like the way you're inclined to express yourself, neither of them would be wrong.

Yeah, just do what YOU think is best. I'm not trying to be smart but it's YOUR relationship, others don't really have an authority on it.

Cook her a nice romantic dinner, and a nice bunch of flowers delivered to her work. Thoughtful but not OTT!

    Flowers to her work ???!!!

You've only known her 8 weeks, A bouquet to her personally and a card to the "best girl friend" etc. Unless of course you're looking for something more serious then you could test the waters with something more demanding.

Has she dropped any hints ? She is probably in the same quandry her self - what are the vibes from her ?

Personally I'd run a mile if someone presented a daft card to me. Firstly, do you think that she wants something for Valentines?

If she does, then go for something small and nice - a little necklace or something similar.

I was only going out with someone for about....2 ish weeks last valentines, and I didn't know what to do, I bought a PSP game and a teeeeeny v-day teddy, and a card that just had a big kiss on the front but blank inside. He got me a big fancy card lol, a teddy and a CD.
    It worked for us.
So go with whatever feels right for the relationship. You could have a teeny card that comes with flowers (you could put 'guess who?' or something on it) and then for dinner just give her a regular card, doesn't have to be 'omg I love you' or anything, there's lots that are simple and blank inside so you can put what you like.
