cd wont eject.. help plz

    the cd inside my 3month old macbook won't eject.. i've tried everything from shutting down to using the disk utility section to eject it..

    thought you guys might have some idea..

    Is there a small pinhole around the drive area? Not sure if slot loading drives have these but if there is try put a paper clip in and disc should be force ejected...

    yeah thought of that alright.. no hole there tho..

    i think at this stage it must be a serious problem and i might just have to contact apple

    Unfortunately I think your right... An Apple user may be able to assist you further though. Is the cd one of those ones you can print on? If so they can get sticky, use different types or spray a fixative spray on them, a cd shouldnt stick under normal use...,

    A little brute force and ignorance but when there was a mini-cd struck inside the slot on a friends macbook the only solution was to turn off the comp, tilt it onto the side of the slot and shake it up and down a couple of times.

    Came out a treat and nothing wrong with the macbook.

    Worth a try, cautiously, I guess??

    Try opening a terminal (run a program called Terminal).
    You'll see a black screen, looking like a DOS prompt from years ago. When you see that , type drutil eject and press return.

    on boot up when the system chimes - hold down your mouse button, this should force an eject.

    agreed - was thru this a few weeks ago and this approach worked
