I am thinking..... I really don't like the atmosphere Ivan has created on the board, he seems to be trying to push the Law to its limits. His questions all seem a little strange and unorthodox. Maybe I'm mistaken but it just doesn't seem above board.

as a new menber to the shooting boards when i read the MAD thread.
ivanhunter post/ i just want to give up asking anybody anthing.i have had
great infomation from a lot of good people in the shooting forun.

ivanhunter would put you off the shooting forun. so ban him before
the shooting forum become THE IVANHUNTER FORUM:mad:

I don't want this to sound as if I don't want to answer questions. I don't know everything and i have had to ask questions here too. And thankfully there is always someone who knows the answer or where you can get one.

Ivanhunters questions always seem to be on the same vein, how to break/bend the law and not get caught ! This is not good for our sport !

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 165 ✭✭pestshooter7

Im relatively new to this but i have read alot of old threads aswell as the new ones.
His questons do seem a little strange to say th least!
As with the vermin one! I try to keep as low a profile when shooting so not to cause trouble, not the opposite where you shoot a fox crow etc on sight no matter where you are or off the road or similar!
Dont try to beet the system because as bad as it is it will catch you out.

It really looks like someone is trying to brew up a concoction of a what's bad and wrong in shooting lexicon and using this place to try and coax information out of us...

A .50 BMG would be a great idea for squirrels. 2 or 3 rounds fired at the base of the tree will fell a mature oak : foolproof way of flushing them out without a chainsaw safepass.

i did not answer your PM as i was unsure of your motives i now see i am not alone in my sceptisism,

YOu seem to be asking how other people have recived authorisation so you can copy their application and hope for the same results

Don't be silly. I know pigeons are not the smartest creatures in the world, but even so, no pigeon is going to mistake one of these:300px-AK-47_type_II_Part_DM-ST-89-01131.jpg
    for one of these:rock_pigeon.jpg

Shows you know nothing about pigeon hunting Sparks. I always use a jet engine mounted on a flatbed lorry. They even come out plucked and roasted at the other end. And if that doesn't work you can always mine the cornfield with antipersonel mines with extremely sensitive mercury detonators... :D

Is using rabbits with bombs strapped to their bodies sent down into fox dens still illegal for killing foxes ?

Don't mind if it's only bending the law. Wouldn't do it if it was actually breaking the law, but if there is a technical way of getting away with it let me know.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,194 ✭✭✭Trojan911

No, no, no lads, you need one of these for the rabbit, not a poxy bow & arrow.............. :D

Ivan, the badgers at the bottom of my field seem to be organising themselves into a terrorist cell. I cant be sure what revolutionary tactics they plan to use against me yet but I have noticed a lot of night time manoeuvres lately. What do you recommend as my next course of action?

I was thinking shock and awe tactics involving napalm and air support. Will this action cause much damage to the hedgerow?

    Thanks in advance.

Not defending you mate. The questions have been rather tiresome, but I don't think this is the right way to do things either. I suggest you start showing a little bit more respect for the law, treat is as a good guideline, rather than some burden you have to live your life with, ask sensible questions (and for what it's worth, I think some of the closer to reasonable questions have been lost in a tirade of abuse), and perhaps adopt a far more personable approach, and you may find the folk around here decidedly more helpful. No-one likes what almost amounts to complaining, trying to subvert and twist the laws, as if you wish they didn't apply to you, so straighten up, fly right and it'll be fine.
