Does anyone have any info on whether the

"Western Digital Scorpio 320GB 5400RPM SATA 2,5" (132 Euro plus vat from komplett.ie)

is suitable for a MacBook Pro 17in?

I currently have the Fujitsu 160GB 5400RPM SATA that came with laptop so the speed is not an issue.

    Any thoughts?

    Dave

Works like a champ on my MBP 15". Install takes about 45 mins to an hour.....just make sure you have the tools and the tutorial printed out.....

I decided to install my OS onto the new drive in an external firewire drive first, restored all my docs, verified the build and then installed the drive in my MBP. swapped old drive into the external firewire enclosure for external boot if required......

And what are you going to do with that 160GB HDD? Stick it into a external enclosure?

That's always a problem with an upgrade. It can't be used as a back up as it's now too small. It'll probably sit on on a shelf with all the other upgrades I've every done (I just chucked out a 2gb SCSI drive from a PowerComputing Mac Clone I had years ago :) )

I'm going to upgrade a MacMini (see http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055233853 ), so I can take it off you :D . PM me if interested?
