So its pretty much acknowledged that Shadow's last solo effort was a poor showing, but having faith I pretty much jumped for joy when i saw a new collaboration with Cut Chemist. their previous two efforts, Brainfreeze & Product Placement, were highly inventive & a breath of fresh air. So, when I saw The Hard Sell i was understandably excited. The cover looked great, even if its shape is a bit of a pain in the ass. If you've listened to the previous efforts that the two have made you'll expect plenty of rare tracks & bizarre samples, on The Hard Sell, you won't quite find it. It seems like a much tamer and more mainstream effort. Its very slow to get going, andwhen it finally does start to entertain, it ends. I was expecting a 70 minuite mix, but about 12 minutes from the end, it cuts to silence, until you reach about 3 minutes till the end, when you get an uninspiring "bonus" track.

Maybe it'll grow on me, but i really did expect much more from this
