Looking to find a couples counselor

Looking for some information on how to go about finding a good couples counselor

I have a bit of a sexual problem in that when I am in a stable relationship my sex drive completely dissapears. I am looking to find a couples counselor somewhere in Dublin (Ideally in the south side) who can deal with these sort of issues but not neccesarily a "sex therapist". I do know that a lot of the issue probably stems from some sexual abuse I experienced when I was younger.

I have already spent time in therapy in relation to the sexual abuse but since then I have discovered this new reaction to sex that only occurs once I am in a proper relationship.

Thanks in advance for any advice\guidance.

By the way, I am a guy if that makes any difference :)

You might start with your GP. I think there is such a clinic on Fitzwilliam Street.

www.accord.ie and www.mrcs.ie will both point you in the right direction. Just call them and tell them your preferred area and they will give you a selection of numbers to call.

If you feel that it's not working because you don't feel 'connected' to the counsellor you go to, try another one. It's so important that you feel comfortable with whoever you choose.

    Good luck!

Tried the GP route first just to see was it a medical issue and did a load of tests. It's not a physical thing so she recommended that we try a counsellor.

Thanks for the links, will try out mcrs.ie and see how I get on.
