After last week's average episode, this was quite decent. It seemed that the writers listened to our moderator and fleshed out Rhys considerably - I'm assuming you liked the portrayal here?

The characters worked well as a team here - something that this season has
been much stronger rather than the argumentative, tempestuous, polyamorous gang they had last season. Their characters have become more fleshed out and it's nice to see Ianto step into the role of the deadpan funny man (loved his delivery of the line "We could do a single").

Okay so the SFX were pretty awful and the guest star acting woeful, but it worked for me - that to me is not a duff episode this season, which is a lot better than what we had last year. Pleased again.

Personally, I loved last weeks episode... but anyhoo...

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed this. This series has just been such a step up in quality from the beginning of last series. It's hard to believe it's the same show.

'Team Torchwood' is again the running theme of the episode, but again it worked. All of the characters seem to have clearly defined roles now. They've cut back on the worst parts of each character but have still kept them fundamentally 'them' Although, I could do without Tosh's unrequited crush. On the plus side, she seems to have learnt a lesson about living in the moment from last week and is at least attempting to ask Owen out.

The villains were a bit hammy (excuse the pun) in this episode. I could have done without their little speech about why they were doing what they do. Could also have done with a little less of Jack's 'What have they done to you, my poor friend' but on the whole, I liked it. Genuinely felt upset when it was revealed the creature was sentient. They're really hammering home the point that humans are the biggest monsters of all, aren't they?

Gwen goes up in my estimation again. She's definitely fully committed to Rhys. Although, did the writers just completely forget she was sleeping with Owen last year? Maybe both Gwen and Owen took Retcon to forget it...

Ianto was once again a complete scene stealer in the episode. He's been toned down from being slightly over the top in Sleeper to retaining the snark but on a much more believable level. I can see that he is falling in love with Jack though. Hopefully, it will be a positive direction for him.

Gwen/Rhys remains the most realistic relationship in the show. It's not perfect and neither are either of them but they're both so human and so believable.

sadly the winter vommiting bug caused me to miss last nights one as i was busy dying. :( I'm going to try and catch the children firendly version.

nice to hear all those e-mails to RTD resulted in something, not to mention those weekends away in Cardiff

Ah yes. The episode with the giant bloated monster in it... but enough about Rhys, there was also an alien in it this week.

:) Living in Australia we get the series WAY TOO LATE.

So I have to thank the friend who has sent us the 4 episodes of Season 2, so far.

LOVE the storyline so far, am rather miffed that Gwen is engaged though. Talk about tension now between her and Jack.
Ianto is doomed to be broken hearted. He has that "crushed puppy" look all over him. I dont want to see him going back to being the shadow he once was though. Maybe find a middle ground?

Look forward to the next episode!
