Hen Party Advice (in Athlone)

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice on organising my sister's hen party. She's picked Athlone for the destination so if anyone can reccomend a nice (middle-range) hotel and any must-see pubs that would be great. Aside from that I'm a little clueless in general. I have only been to one hen party before and it was your typical crazy party with lotsa rude paraphernalia and dress-up, etc. My sister on the other hand wants something a little tamer... but I want to try and strike a balance. It's not supposed to be just like any other night. Can anyone think of a dress-up theme that's fairly do-able and fun without being too wacky? I think my sister basically wants a fairly low-maintenance night. She also doesn't want to do any activities like the usual quad biking or beauty salon visit so does anyone have any ideas for games we could play? I'd really appreciate some ideas... cheers :)

Well pub-wise id try The Palace Bar on the Roscommon side of the bridge. Maybe the Prince Bar too.

    Games? "Hide the sausage" anyone?

Could also play "drink while ya think" hen style. One of you mentions a guy you fancy and the next person must name another guy, but using the first letter of the previous guys surname as the first letter of the next guys first name. While thinking, you drink. Should keep ye going a while.

Or play "Well i never". One of ye says (example) "Well i never was with a guy in his parents bedroom" and whoever hasnt done it all drinks. The few who have sit still and everyone giggles (hopefully!) :D

Palace Bar, Prince, Seans Bar are all good

Top Deck, Di Bella, Olive Grove for dining

What about a boat trip on Shannon, maybe too cold though

Thanks a million... those venues all sound cool. I've actually been to Sean's Bar but they had a sign on the door saying 'No Hen Parties Allowed'!! There'll only be about 12 of us though so maybe we'll slip in unnoticed. So anyone got any ideas for dress-up themes... want something fun but that won't take too much effort from some of the lazier ppl...
