is it worth doing a photography course?

Nothing basic, I know a fair bit about how to use a camera, but my knowledge of rules(guidelines) of composition is a bit shaky so this is where I may benifit.

Id rather do some course that i become certified from ,rather than just some course where Joe Bloggs who has had a camera for years shows a few beginners a few things over a 10 week period.

I would like something with assignments and what not. Is something like this worth doing? Has many of you done this?

I would like to go back to college to study photography, however i have done 4 years in computers in college so i dont want to go back and do a full time course.

Is there a need to be certified?

Digital Beginners run a number of very good courses, with assignments and such. No harm checking them out.

Not sure where you are but the City & Guilds Level 2 is a good course. Currently doing it myself. The start of it was abit of a refresher course from what I learned in College many moons ago. Check out your local PLC college or night course.ie not sure if that's the right address. But it's worth a look

Night Courses website. They also list Digital Beginners as a trainer.

Defo go for the advanced one

I applied to one before but the group didnt form so i tried the beginners one anyway, and the first class was how to use the shutter button!!

And about the need to be certified, i dont think there is one

Everyone I ask who have degrees and all that said they've never once gotten a job with having a degree being a factor

    Its all about your portfolio
