Limited company fee

    Hi there,

Just keeping with my adventure going contracting. I have got some fees from several companies. I am not sure whether is allowed to disclose company names details so I won't do it. I have several quotes all without VAT:

    1) 350 for registering the company (including vat an paye) and 175€ monthly that includes accounting, tax returns, cro returns and dealing with all year-end matters. Were pretty fast to answer my enquiries but got a couple of bad reviews of them from an agent.

    2) 585€ for registering the company (including vat and paye) + 1950€ at end of year + 75€ monthly for bookkeeping. All prices are optional. Apparently a very professional service. Well known company quoted in this forum.

    3) 250€ monthly, includes all the above: registration, invoicing, end of year, etc. Also a well known company quoted in this forum.

So, to be honest, I am really confused. 1) seems good to me but just I bit frightened by an agent that told me two of his contractors had problems with them. 2) were very professional but seems quite expensive to me. 3) well.. I don't know

    Any advice?

Is the first one Prima? If so, I've been with them a good while and only moved from umbrella to limited. No problems with them at all so far. Will let you know how I go with them this month, i.e my first month invoice.

    Second one sounds very expensive!

You can always organise a meeting with either of these to get a better feel and to iron out any issues you think may arise.

I think 350 + VAT is fairly standard to register a company with the CRO. Not sure where #2 got their price?

    Good luck!

I registered a limited company last year. used an online registration company to do it (but this is really only a fancy word processor that sets everything out), the cost for doing this successfully is around 80 yooyoos to the online company and 100 yooyoos to the CRO (companies Registration Office)...

It was TOO easy... as it turned out, I've now got to dissolve the company (WAY too hard to do ...:D)...

Anyhow, my advice, having gone through this, is register the company yourself (lots of online companies do this, I used: http://www.registeracompany.ie)

and then seek out the best VAT/Tax accountant you can afford based upon their ability to save you money...

    FBP.

    Thanks guys,

Yes first one was Prima. Finally I think I'll go with CFO. Seems a very nice crew and fee is very good if you get their virtual accountant package.

    Cheers.

Any chance you can give me some information / advice on this ? I've just been told by my acountants that I have 2 options. 1 is to keep the company going & pay a certain amount every year for them to file returns, and the second is to close the company down and this wil cost me almost €2000 ... which I don't have !!!

I would strongly recommend looking into setting up a ltd comapny for this purpose. I spent some time contracting and under an umbrella company and it was very disheartening handing over so much cash to them every month.

See if this applies to you. If it does, the process is straightforward and you could do it yourself. Then the only cost would be (i) your time (ii) the ad in the paper which varies from €100 - €300 depending on the paper.

This looks a bit cheaper, and goes to prove just how much I am getting ripped off !!! Thanks Rory ...
