Wasn't she heading off to make films after she left Comreg. Did the tales spun while she was responsible at Comreg distorted her view of what an audience would be willing to accept, even in a medium where there is a suspension of disbelief?

It's nice to see a minister who was previously so critical of Comreg now welcoming one of the people most responsible for the current state of the broadband market in Ireland back into the fold.

    M.

That was Etain , a predecessor of Isolde.

Etain was useful for some time but not in her latter years . She buggered off to make movies. Unfortunately she then came back and got a sinecure as a science guru :(

She is now an important sounding yoke in this place Crann
CRANN is about the research and innovation that comes from having the best people in the best environment. CRANN provides a unique collaborative and interdisciplinary environment in which fundamental research carried out by teams of internationally renowned experts and leading industry figures is leveraged to address critical issues in Information and Communication Technologies and Biotechnology.

That guff means its something to do with getting Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optic Handshakes going between the Throbbing Luminescent Green Slime in the left corner and the nanoTubicBipedo'saurus bot in the right corner.

Herself is chair  , I predict a bright future for the slime .

Isolde is something to do with some subset of Wimax that is ( unsurprisingly ) Vapourware at the moment, as I write .

    Inaccurate RTE reporting re NGN

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2008/0328/broadband.html
Currently only a handful of companies like Smart Telecom, Magnet and NTL/Chorus/UPC offer speeds above 3MB.

Irish service providers are investing around €700m a year in developing their networks.

While there is almost 90% broadband coverage across Ireland, the quality of coverage is well below the EU average.

The Government's National Broadband Scheme is intended to bring the coverage to almost 100%.
There are at least two major ISPs missing from list of over 3Mbps?

    90% coverage is not true.

    almost 100% is not true.

Why so often to RTE simply print other people's press statements without any investigative journalism?

This is the same Isolde who got the hump when she failed to get a promotion with Ericsson, promptly took them to an Equality Tribunal - screamed Sex discrimination when she found out the Adjudicator was female but lost the case. It seems she suffers from stress which necessitated her taking six months off work.

It appears she also did a stint at Telecom Eireann, Eircoms predecessor.
The Buffoon Bat O'Keefe appointed her to the competition authority.

I wonder if there is an equivalent of MIDAS where instead of everything turning to Gold, It turns into a disaster?
