The US Store is now listing 16GB iPhones and 32GB iPod Touches. No sign on the UK/Irish store yet, but only a matter of time.

And about time. Was so hopeful for an iPhone release here. I immediately dislike my 16GB Touch now... dam Apple! Haha just kidding, I love you iPod... even though you can be "touchy" at times :)

Yeah me too. I really didn't expect a 32gb model 'til the summer. Oh well, I got it off ebay for a good price so it doesn't really bother me that much.

makes the touch more reasonable for movies as well as mp3s..

About time. 32GB makes the Touch just what I need for my music collection. And the job told me I'm off to the states this summer but I know a few people heading sooner.

So reckon the shopping list just got something added. So now I need a Touch and a time capsule.

Notice the use of 'need'. If I'm honest it's just 'want'

On the irish website now too. As usual Firefox has a ramie when the AppleStore gets busy......

No price for 32Gb as yet. Still love my 16GB to bits, especially since I evaded the "Jobs Tax"

Now it becomes a potential purchase. How is the volume on the touches? On the new Classics I found it to be very low compared to my 30g (its the version just before the classics came).

It's the same crappy EU cap but unlike the Classic it's easily fixed via jail-breaking.

My biggest criticism of the Touch however is lack of proper volume buttons, trying to adjust via the touch screen is very awkward.

Ah so if you jail-break it (is that easy?) you can get the volume louder? I only keep it half way when I'm listening to it but I play my iPod in work and I put it to full volume for that.

Me thinks I might be making a new purchase soon.

Easy enough but jailbreaking doesn't work with the new firmware yet. So you'll probably have to downgrade first (assuming Apple hasn't changed anything to prevent that).

it's easy to jailbreak and downgrading to firmware 1.1.1 is fairly easy for someone with any computer knowledge i.e. download a progrgam on your computer and write 3 lines of commands. the volume is really annoying though so it's definetly going to need fixing if you like your music loud!

Hey I wann get a 32GB Touch and seeing as my friend is going to NY soon I figured i'd take advantage of it!! Just wondering how much she would have to pay in an Apple Store. I knwo the 32GB Touch is $499 which is €340 but I presume there is sales tax on this. Anone know how much? I don't wanna leave her short!!

    Thanks

Don't buy it in the apple store, I bought my touch in B&H photo and it was 370+tax, cheaper than the apple store.

Ok cool, do you know where the handiest (near 5th Ave) B&H is?

Edit: Their website says $499 so its the same.

AFAIK there is only one B&H it's a few blocks west of Macy's I can't remember exactly.
I bought the 16G which was 370 I think. while it was 400 up at apple.
