I think COD4 is generally more popular here. I'm not a fan though, I'd much rather play Warhawk. If you really have to pick just one, you'll probably find either to be great fun.

Don't have CoD yet, but Warhawk is ace. One of those games that you go on at 10pm for an hour and look at the clock at 2am........

You don't have to use it. Could be good for a luagh if we ever get the crowd fromhere on together. I got the download version @ €29.99 and use my Motorola BT headset. Works fine, as I think most others should.

cool. i might download it then. have been looking for a good online game. Burnout has been keeping me busy lately as well.

I'd say that because WarHawk can be downloaded cheap, get both.

If you want to pick only one, I'd go with COD4. I much prefer that style of play, the progression is handled really really well, the graphics are amazing, and I think it's slightly more forgiving for new players than WarHawk. Also, I just prefer the tense, close quarters realistic firefights over WarHawk.

I've been playing bf2 and cod online for ages but I recently got warhawk...and returned it after a week...I thought it was utterly rubbish.
Poor maps , poor graphics , Poor controls and rarely found a decent game online that wasn't full of kids..
I know the boardies here have lots of games online but it wasn't for me..
I loved call of Duty 4 though on the PC haven't tried it on the ps3.

The graphics are not as good as COD4 certainly, I wouldn't call them poor by any means. I like the maps, just don't think there's enough of them- the variations on those maps help though. As for the kids- I guess you were unlucky. I occasionally come across a few but for the most part the ranked server games are either very quiet or have some decent tactical chatter. The controls are largely the same as pretty much every PS3 shooter, COD4 included. If you're used to the PC games you mentioned, it's hard to get used to PS3 fps controls.

A couple of people I've introduced to the game didn't like it for the first few rounds due to the fairly unforgiving learning curve. It sounds like you gave the game a fair chance though.

Not true..i gave it a fair chance but i've been playing games for donkeys years now and unless something is better than what I have then I wont bother with it.
Why bother playing an inferior game to BF2/DOD etc just because it's the only multiplayer game on the PS3..I can wait for a decent Multiplayer game to appear for the PS3 :)

personally i prefer as cod4 is a very stereotypical game lacking originality whereas warhawk will keep you hooked for hours!

I would agree COD4 is better. Warhawk has is a good game but COD4 is a whole different class its got alot more and an excellent ranking system. Warhawks ranking sysytem is useless aswell and it take near a year to get to top rank and COD4 has single player too

I'd expect nothing less, otherwise what's the top rank even worth? You'd just have servers full of Generals and rank wouldn't be any indicator of experience or skill at all.
