    Hi

I sent in a CV to a large bank recently and got a letter to say that my application has been unsuccessful.
However I applied for a job with an agency and they gave in my CV after I sent it in and the agency has called me to say that I have been offered an interview with the same company this week.

    What should I do?
-just go for the interview and hope for the best
-tell the agency I have been refused

And if I go for the interview what should I tell them if they ask have I applied with them before?

    Thanks
    Football man (very confused!!!)

Go for the interview. It's possible at the time their hiring process was on hold...

You have nothing to lose by going to the interview!

lol, the same thing happened me when I applied to my current job in a bank.
It could be the same place :D

As someone who has been there, say nothing!
If you want to tell your coworkers when you get the job then go ahead but personally I'd tell nonone as it reflects badly on you.

If the HR department are now clueless enough to paying an agency thousands to recruit you, it's unlikely they know you applied already.

Wow, a positive story for a recruitment agency on Boards for once

I remember I went for an interview to be one of the "AA Roadwatch" radio people.

About two weeks later I received a PFO. The following week I received a voicemail from them wondering why I hadn't shown up for work.

    :confused::confused:

I had already taken another job, so it was a bit late anyway by that stage...

Very funny, before Xmas i applied for a position in an American company through an agent then the next day i received an email from the HR manager of that same company saying "Hi XXXX, i saw your CV on monster today. We have a position that suits you, would you consider applying for the job?" I tell her, i applied through an agent.
Over a month and no word from them, then on Tuesday i get another email from the same hr manager asking me if i was interested in the same position.... And i forward the mails she sent to me, she apologises and comes back with "I spoke to the hiring manager and unfortunately he doesn't want to consider you for an interview. But in the near future if you are looking for employment please feel free to contact us"
    They are totally clueless....

Go for the job, banks have HR department and the turnover is high. The person that didn't want to see you for an interview has either left or moved or SACKED!
