Wrong Power Adapter for External HDD - Calling SUMOdisk users

Heya, I've recently been moving things around my room and I've lost my adapter for my "SUMOdisk 500gb External USB HDD". I have a NETGEAR router adapter (DC====12v) which outputs power @ 1A. I accidently plugged this in and the enclosures power light is lit but the drive itself fails to spin up (making a clicking sound as if it's stuck).

Now I've looked on SUMOdisks website (not very helpful) and found the manual which doesn't tell me the specs of the AC/DC adapter but from googling "external hard drive power adapter" I learned that most available adapters operate @ 5A which gives me some relief as I think that the disk doesn't have enough power to spin up as opposed to it having too much power and frying all my data!

What I'm wondering is, what adapter does the SUMOdisk use, so I can go buy a replacement and whether or not doing so would work (given that I accidently used the wrong one).

Thanks very much for your help in advance :).

    BUMP.

Would anyone be able to shed some light on this? Would a wrong adapter kill the hard drive or just fry the external enclosures board?
