Are there any regulations regarding installation of gas/carbon monoxide detectors in new builds/installation in Ireland?

Im not aware of any. Heat detectors are a must as is the radon sump/barrier but other than that I havent come across what you are referring to.

    To answer your question directly......No.

Carbon monoxide poisioning can be caused by faulting CO producing applicances, or lack of ventilation where CO appliance are present. There are regulations governing the two situations above, namely 'Ventilation' building regulations and Quality Standard test on the appliances. There is no reg requiring CO detectors to be incorporated....
