    Wow, those are expensive cards.

I normally buy from 7dayshop.com or mymemory.co.uk. Delivery isn't fast, but their prices are very much worth the wait.

May be worth picking up a cheap 1gb card in Gunns or similar to keep you going, and ordering a couple of 2gb or a 4gb one off 7dayshop or somewhere like that, then you'll always have the wee one as a backup.

I would be very very cautious buying memory cards on ebay, unless it's a 100% reliable retailer.

It always pays to ask around here before buying anything.

thanks guys. i ended up purchasing from shop4memory.com.

2gb card, 36 quid, compared to 90 quid in Conns cameras. very apt name!!!

Thanks for the offer to lend me your spare card ShakeyBlakey, its much appriciated.

That's for sure, I had a real bad experience last year with a card from e-bay,lost some great family shots.

    did you post it internationally?
do you know its illegal to post counterfeit merchandise? even if for a return, you're liable for that
paypal should refund you without the need to send it by post
read ebay's small print regarding fake memory cards

    Hi,

I'm ordering my wife an Olympus E-410 2 lens kit this morning from Komplett.ie.

I was going to order a CF card and a spare battery from Komplett too, but it occurred to me that even though the camera deal is great, their memory & battery prices may not be so competitive.

So I searched on here and in Google and found mymemory.co.uk selling 4GB Extreme III CF cards for €33.33 incl shipping. Komplett do 4GB Extreme I CF cards for €33, but are out of stock at this time. Am I correct in thinking Extreme III cards are faster than Extreme I cards?

    http://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory/SanDisk/4GB/Extreme/III/Compact/Flash/Card

Also, the Olympus BLS-1 battery is €55 from Komplett (thinking a spare would be a good idea for busy holiday days & nights), but picstop.co.uk do a non-Olympus equivalent for under €25 incl delivery. Can anyone comment on these non-branded aftermarket batteries in terms of power, life, reliability, etc?

    Thanks for any replies,

    Mark

I got a sandisk CF card 4 gb extreme III for 59 dollars (about 40 Euro) in B+H in new york last week.
Thought it was a bit much till I saw the same card in dixons yesterday for 149 Euro!!!!!!
Don't buy any cards in Ireland.

EDIT: I usually buy from 7dayshop aswell who are very good.

Don't buy any camera equipment in Ireland... you can find it for 50-70% off in the US or 30-50% off in Asia. :(

That's what we get for having the 7th(?) highest GNP per capita in the world and 2nd in the EU (after those rich Luxembourgers)!

Will Play send to Ireland though? I know they do for DVDs and books, but I thought for electronics it was a no-no with them.

It's more to do with having a useless government and 21% VAT ;)

Just ordered one SanDisk 4GB Extreme III CF card from mymemory.co.uk - probably WAY more than we'll ever need. €33 incl shipping.

Check out Conn's Cameras' price for what appears to be the exact same card (third line from the bottom):

What's that all about  ?
