Psp games not reading when inserted into Psp?

My son has 6 games for his psp. 2 of them are playing fine, the other 4 will not read and give the unable to read error when inserted.

On checking the disks, they are not scratched or anything and are kept clean with the aid of a UMD disk cleaner.

Although i have noticed the plastic UMD case that the non reading games are in seem to be loose and opening.

Would it be worth getting 4 replacement UMD cases from gamestop/ebay and transfer the game disk to the new ones?

Its driving me mad as the games for the psp are not cheap!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Have you been able to try those discs in another PSP? Are they able to rotate freely? Seems odd if they're not scratched though.

Definitely no harm in trying this now. You could try repairing the existing ones in the mean-time. A bit of sellotape could work wonders. Just make sure the internal disc can rotate freely and is clean.

Never seen / heard of those UMD cleaners. Are you sure it hasn't been scratching the discs? I've seen some pretty wrecked UMD's working just fine.
