Can you make an offer on a house if you havent received mortgage approval?

of course you can - but people dont advise it, as you may offer x and find out you are able to get a mortgage for a lot less [or a lot more!]..

Even if they accept your offer, and you pay a deposit you generally have a couple of months before things go final to feck around while the vendor messes you about and the solicitors play snail mail tennis

Go to a broker, get all the paperwork done ASAP and you will have approval for an amount before the end of the week..
