So, getting a bit tired of straightforward clean tone to lacking distortion of Marshall AVT. Anyone able to recommend some great pedals to really beef up my sound and other general effects (wah etc.)?

AVT eh? Honestly, any pedals you use to try and beef up your sound is just polishing a turd. Save your money, and get a decent amp.

Bollocks! Any recommendations on new amp so? Lookin' for mainly hard blues rock, nice creamy but crunchy tones.

Marshall have re-issued their whole back catalogue of amps from the first in the early 60's.

Best prices for them are ww.gak.co.uk
I have a new 100W JVM 2X12.....rockin', but no need for half the flippin' power these days.
Stay away from the Marshall MG range...worse than the AVT.

There are other brands too....but that's my info on Marshall.

dont buy marshall. so overpriced it's just silly. if you want to get a great amp, then get something from here http://www.ceriatone.com/ and pick up a second hand cabinet. i got a jtm45,hand wired, with master volume mod, shipped to my door from Malaysia (inc. irish vat and duties, bleh!) for 600E. Thats one of the best amps ever made for about half what a JCM would cost new ;). alternatively get a peavey. peavey classic 30s/50s sell for pretty nice prices on ebay and the new peavey windsor studio is a brilliant wee amp for bedroom stuff.
