So i won a seat at this which starts in 2 weeks. Because i've been travelling to quite a few of these recently and they're basically pretty high varience. I'm hoping to sell around 50% of myself. The package is worth $11,150 so basically 1% = $111.50, 5% = $557.50 etc. Only want to sell in increments of 1%. I think the problem here is more to do with people not known you on this forum. They know off you, but very few have met you and trust is always part of these deals.

I don't think the Rooney/Requim deal should be the benchmark for people to be expected to live up to/be compared too.

I don't really understand why R4AD does it, it seems to me that he is just giving away value/money.

I have to agree with the sentiments above.i've seen two posts on this forum from this guy and both times he was looking for something.
May very well be a good investment but to me just looks downright cheeky(now that's a word i haven't used for a while).

Since hes a known winning mtt player in Ireland i imagine thats why he posted on here. Selling % is pretty standard procedure. What the **** is wrong with people around here?

The boards community, in general, dont get in the habit of staking people who they dont know. Post amount has everything to do with situations like this - this forum will not stand for being used and abused by people just looking to sell some action, however good they are. If that was the case you would have a clutch of winning non-boardsies just coming here to get staked and contributing little else.

In terms of my deal, i personally believe that staking in EPT events are far too high variance to make it worthwhile, hence i gave it some thought and came up with my own idea. Double-chance. This is -ev for me but i dont take poker or life too seriously so i dont mind. It's not a benchmark.

This is an internet forum, obviously, but the key word is community. The poker community in Ireland is relatively small, and most people who post here would know each other personally. When it comes to staking threads, knowing someone personally makes a big difference, failing that knowing the quality/quantity of their advice can be a big seller.

FWIW i believe Stephen is the best online mtt player on this island, potentially world class. I'll probably take 5 or 10% myself, that isnt the issue here.

Stevie, why not come down to Drogheda and play the GJP main event this week, it's a fantastic tourny and will give you the opportunity to meet plenty of Boardsies. Best of luck in Copenhagen ill PM you and ship some $ when i decide how much i want.

I havn't played many live events in ireland so a lot of you guys will never have met me. However i'm planning on changing that this year starting on Drogheda this week where i'm already down to play on Thursday.

And yes i'm only a newish member here and promise to post more from now on, hope it doesn't look cheeky or anything posting this here with my lack of posts but i was just putting it up on most of the forums were i'm a member and i thought there may be some interest.

I have known Stevie for a few years - he used to play some our smaller live tournaments before becoming one of the top online players in the world. He has a natural ability for the game which was obvious from very early in his career. I am happy to vouch for him to anyone who is unsure of his trustworthiness.

So many people on this forum look to shoot down people it is unbelievable. What is the problem with asking questions to give a poster a chance to explain something that might not be clear in their original post. Not everyone remembers to include every detail in their posts and what is obvious to some is not always obvious to others.

Anyway, Stevie I saw this after seeing your post on THM and have already asked for a & there. I will be in Copenhagen to watch over my investment which reminds me I have a hotel to book

Well I certainly wouldn't call it cheeky. Allinstevie has been spoken about around here lately as probably the best on-line MTT player in Ireland, so it was really just offering us the opportunity. I think BCB, Ollie and myself were just trying to explain why the amount of interest wasn't as high as expected. Again IMO, although most people would know the online player allinstevie as a great player, not many of us know the person based on either posting history or personal knowledge, that probably explained the lack of initial interest, but Mike has vouched for him now so possibly that may allay any fears.

But another thing I also think happens is that people like to back regular posters because we get a feeling we know the person from posting here and can decide what kind of person they are as well as their ability based on their posting style, content, etc.

But again this is all just IMO.

I suppose we better get this thread back on topic so Allinstevie can keep an easier record, but if anyone else wants to vouch for stevie or whatever I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

Finally, it would be great to see some posts from Allinstevie we have some of the best players in Ireland regularly posting here and yourself would be a great addition to many a discussion I'm sure.

Also, HoLLLLLaments, let's calm down slightly, we're not quite as hysterical as 2+2 around here, if someone acts like a douche (using 2+2 terms) we call them out by ripping their post to shreds politely. It makes it much more satisfying.

In case I thought I was taking a shot at you I wasnt. I also have no issue with trusting you, you know as well as i do that if you shaft somebody on a staking deal that the irish poker community is too small and it will severely count against you in the future.

I was in the process of replying yesterday to take some % when I had a look at the xe and copped that you were asking us to pay some of your expenses also. This is not a standard type of deal that we see on boards. Rob asked for some juice in his trip to prague, he was up front about it and i was happy to take my couple of %. Dathio looked for some juice in last years aussie millions also and he got a full subscription.

My point in all this is nothing to do with your post count on boards or with your trustwortyness - these are not issues for me. My issue is that you failed to be upfront in what you were offering and i dont think that it is too much to ask of you particularly when you are looking for $$ in return.

Anyway, best of luck in the EPT - I may still take some %, im just trying to get my head around it.

Noel makes valid points. The problem with the stars packages is the sats have been available for months, and the prize is a fixed package. In this case $11,150. The exchange rate has deteriorated a lot since then, so there's gonna be in some cases a big discrepancy between the actual buy-in and the package. If the $ continues to ...ummm... suck, then the Monte Carlo package is going to be a massive discrepancy between the two figures.

Having said all that I'll take 10%.

k with rooney_dives taking 10%, thats 50% fully booked, just to clear up again, in no way was i trying to be deceitful in any way shape or form, i just took what the stars package was worth i.e. $11,150 and divided it by 100 to come to 1% and thats what i offered. I wasn't trying to mark anything up add juice or whatever, sorry for the confusion
