Macbook with Win32:Spyware infections

    Hi guys, was wondering if anyone could give me a little insight into this. I recently installed Avast onto my macbook just to see if it was worth having an anti virus pack for it. To my surprise it listed 13 infected files after the first scan the most of which were infected with the Win32:Spyware-Gen and others with Win32:Adware-Gen, Win32:Ezula, Win32:Trojan-Gen, Win32:Adan-102 & Win32:SrchAssist-4.

    I was a bit surprised to see so many infected files but i had read previous to the install that some antivirus software for mac bring up legit files as infected files. I am running the latest o/s - Leopard and keep my laptop up to date all the time. I have a dual boot on the laptop running XP Home SP2.

    Can anyone let me know what the best course of action would be to take as i dont want to delete any files without being 100% sure all will be in order afterwards.

    where were the infected files found? where they on the mac partition?

    why are you surprised it found infections? running xp on a macbook without virus protection and spyware protection thinking you're safe is so naiive, it's mac osx that makes macbooks so good against virii not the other way round.
