    Haven't used them in the past 12 months, but used them about a dozen
    times over the previous few years for flights to Arlanda.
    No problems at all with them, no delays or hassle with check-in or baggage;
    pleasant staff and I'd recommend them unless others have more recent and
    negative feedback.

    Very high quality airline is the good point.

    Bad point is their staff like to strike :mad:

    Where are you flying to?

    Highly recommend http://www.norwegian.no/sw7127.asp The Norwegian version of Ryanair, only reliable and cheap. They are actually more reliable than SAS...

    Im flying long haul to Bangkok. Iv already booked but i read somewhere(wikipedia i think but it was about 2 months ago so im not sure) that they had a few crashes earlier this year and had to ground one of their fleets. Got the flight at a decent price though so once their not terrible i dont mind.

    The grounded flights were a couple of short-haul planes, or one particular kind.

    Long-haul..well they won't be terrible, but they won't be particularly stellar either. You'll get what you pay for - a seat, some food, a drink and some sort of entertainment. The quality of said items may very ;)

    There wouldn't be much point in striking if they did ;)

    The accident in question (http://blog.flightstory.net/290/video-sas-dash-8-crashed-at-landing/) turned out to be a maintenance fault on that particular aircraft.

    Flying to Thailand you may be flying Thai Airways as its their alliance partner. Just check if you have a code share ticket.

    I fly SAS at the moment about once a month and last year I think i took about 70 flights with them to/from Norway via either Oslo or Copenhagen.

    Sometimes there are delays but if you are delayed on a connecting flight, they do compensate you or rebook you on another flight which is a bonus. We had this issue when I was flying home for Christmas and the airport was closed in Oslo due to weather and they put us up in a hotel (350€ for the night) and gave us complimentry drinks and food vouchers. We were a day late coming home but it was no biggie

    I have done longhaul with SAS before Chicago to Stockholm to Dublin. There long haul flights were the best ones I have ever had. I have flowen with BA, US Airways, Aer Lingus, American Airlines and Continental all long haul. The SAS flights were by far the best I have ever had. You can check in at Dublin with thier self service machines and select your own seat. Short Haul on SAS the standards have dropped quite badly. The seats are smaller now than what they were and the service on board has dwindled quite badly. But longhaul is another thing. They dont have on deamd yet but are planning it I have been told. The food is good much better than normal. The inflight entertainment is very good they even have a nose camera so you can see the aircraft taking to and from the gate and down the runway which I love!!

    Your in for a real treat and hope you enjoy yourself.
