Sky+ Subscription

Does anybody know if you still have to pay an extra €15 a month to get Sky+, as I had heard from somebody recently that this was no longer the case. Now in saying that I am getting Sky+ for nothing (relatively speaking) as I have Sky Sports, but if say I got rid of Sky Sports, would I then have to start paying €15 a month extra for Sky+?

    Cheers

Yes, the Sky+ recording features will work free, regardless of which package you subscribe to (of course, it won't work if you don't subscribe at all).

So, even from the lowest package at €20, you'll still get Sky+ features without paying additional €15 per month.

According to the small print in the Sky mag it's free while "you subscribe to any Sky digital package, otherwise €15 per month."

Would that mean that it would be possible to drop all the Sky packages and still get to use Sky+ features for all the FTA channels? Perhaps even getting full use and being able to record from the extra channels.....

If the channel is not on the EPG, then you can't record it :(

No that wont work. I had a sky sub and sky+ box with a couple of good movies on it and when I cancelled the sub last year I lost all the sky+ box features. I couldnt even watch the films I recorded.

i did indeed sir. have sky since last october. i love sky plus but i had a signal problem a month after i got it installed. since then I have had 6 different tech's out to sort this problem and its still a problem. ringing sky everytime is a nightmare. you either have to spend a 1/2 hour on hold and then another 20 mins giving details and explaining your problem again to a person who barely understands english! not only that but to add to insult to injury a tech called monday to fix :D the problem and hits my 2 car doors with a ladder. now i have a dent in the car, with 1 door unable to open fully and no sky digi! :(
