Apps you'd like?

I'd like an app that would identify not just CDs but individual tracks. I have a million 'Track 1's in my iTunes, many of them tracks from CDs that were later listed on Gracenote - but I'll never know what they are.

    What app would you like?

Winamp, GaIM (or whatever it's called) and uTorrent.
And for Creative to get their finger out and to make Mac compatible software for their MP3 players.

Gaim is now known as Pidgin. Adium is an excellent Mac app based on it.

uTorrent - have you tried a recent version of Transmission? It's improved drastically in the last few months.

Winamp - I'm gonna suggest iTunes although I'm betting you have your reasons for not using it.

Yeah I'm gonna agree, though a slightly tweaked version of iPhoto would work just as well, and admittedly I'm still using iPhoto '06.

Also, I want TinyMCE to work with Safari. Somebody, make it happen.

Thanks, aidan_walsh, just looking at that now.

I don't know what most of those PC apps do.

The RAR thing - is that what MacPAR deLuxe does? Or ffmpeg? Or UnRarX? I mix all those things up.

Downloaded Picard but couldn't see how to make it find duplicate tracks. It seems to be in techspeak a bit.

Oh, and I'd like a cliche- and seanfhocail-finder - so you could enter:

"She was a woman well ??? in years"

and it would come up with "well...whatever the heck the word is... in years". Burdened? Troubled? Damn! Even PG Wodehouse uses the phrase, though it's a typically Irish one.

BetterZip can create split RAR files (if you have RAR installed).

    is that what you meant?
