    Hello there,
I joined this message board to ask for your help in sourcing footage of the awful episode of eastenders in 1997 when the Fowlers came to Ireland.

I am looking for a video preferably or even screenshots of this episode after recently discovering that my college friend starred in the show as a 12 year old friend of Martin Fowlers.

Nothing would satisfy me more than to have a clip of him in action, so if you know anyway I could find this old episode I would be ever in your debt.

    Good Man, God Woman,
    Monaghancat.

    Christ so do I.

Remember that episode, don't see what all the fuss was about, I think it was brought up in the Dail and everything, mad.

Ah now come on... it was blatant paddying up of the Irish. The first thing you saw was this threatening old man in a Michael Guiney's suit, wellies and a cloth cap with reddish hair peeking out from under it. He was getting out of a Ford Cortina, ffs... a CORTINA, in 1997... I mean I know it was 11 years ago, but Cortinas were antediluvian even then! And there was livestock wandering around the main street!

I think though what made me laugh was the sight of all the politicians, the Bord Fáilte types and the staff of the Sindo, all getting very red-faced and indignant, because they wanted, you know, trad music by the (turf-fuelled) fireside in Galway, some panoramic shots of the Iveragh peninsula and some trendies sipping cappuccinos on Stephen's Green. Instead, they got the worst Daily Express caricatures of the violent, uncivilised Paddies! Classic!

That sounds very Twee Irish bar the Cappuccinos, or did you mean cupatea?
