Dublin - Cliffs of Moher

    Hi!
I just booked a b&b in Liscannor and wondering how to reach it by PUBLIC transport from Dublin. It is a budget trip so I am thinking of bus Eirean but the only direct trip I found is to Doolin.
I heard that the best way is to travel to Limerick and from there on.

Does anyone know what is the best (and cheapest) way to get to Liscannor?
Also do you know fares from Limerick?

Thank you for all your help, much appreciated!

Get train to Limerick, then bus to Doolin. Not too sure if the Doolin bus runs year round though

    Thank you for your reply.
And since Liscannor is on the other side of the Cliffs won't it be too far from Doolin? Or does it pass by?
I'm annoying perhaps :D but unfortunately I have no sense of direction, whatsoever :)

Limerick-Doolin bus stops at Liscannor and Cliffs of Moher.

    Bus:

    07.00 Dublin-Galway, get off at Oranmore 10.15 (Route 020)

    10.40 Oranmore-Cliffs of Moher 12.20 (Route 050)

13.10 Cliffs of Moher- Liscannor 13.20

    ----

    12.30 Dublin - Limerick 16.10 or 13.30 Dublin - Limerick 17.10 (Route 012)

    17.35 Limerick - Doolin, arr Liscannor 19.10 (Route 337)

12.30 is probably a better choice, the later bus could easily get stuck in traffic arriving in Limerick, best to take a break anyway

    ---

    Train and Bus

07.00 Train Dublin - Cork, Change at Limerick Junction, arr Limerick 09.15

09.35 Bus Limerick - Doolin, arr Liscannor 11.10. (Route 337)

If the train is late the next bus isn't until 17.35. Bus and train station at Limerick are together.

Bus: €31 Monthly Return Dublin-Liscannor. If for any reason you cannot get a ticket for Liscannor (There shouldn't be a problem but some destinations don't show) buy a Doolin ticket instead, it is the same fare and you won't have any trouble using it.

    Train: €52.20 Dublin - Limerick 5-Day return
Bus €23 Limerick - Liscannor Monthly Return

    Thanks!
The train is a bit to expensive for me, I will definately take the bus.
I'm so excited, heard lots of stories about the Cliffs and want to check them out for myself!

There is a weekender pass you can get from iarnroad eireann that makes the prices about 33 or so. I think it was mentioned in the bargain alerts forum so have a browse or use the search button. Details are on the CIE website also so it may be worthwhile getting that and the train if you think you'll use it again within the next year

Also bring some sandwiches and nibbles and a drink! All the walking makes you hungry and the shops are pricey up there for food. It would be cold and windy there this time of the year so wrap up well. Enjoy!

But the weekender pass is only valid on fri, sat and sun. I am heading to the Cliffs just after St. Paddy's :)
    Anyways, I appreciate the help!

    That's a good point, thx! ;)
We're coming on the 18th of March, so I hope it will be a bit warmer :) But I never know what the weather will be like in Ireland. Although I have been in Ireland several times before and the only time I was warm was the summer of 2006 :D
We will definately bring something to eat with us. Gosh, after that we are heading off to Wicklow - have to show my fiancee everything!
Hope we will survive, the distances, the prices AND the weather :)
    Stil love Ireland though!
