I doubt they had a change of heart about bebo. Could be a temporary glitch. They're upgrading parts of the network atm.

Are people not just using the different URLs to get into it? I did notice a lot more people using Bebo today and yesterday.

TBH, the ban is very easily ignored, people can just use a proxy to bypass the bebo ban.

'Tis true, I was able to get on it as well. Good old nuig computer services tbh.

Bebo is no longer banned because computer services were threatened with a legal action as it infringed on people's right to communicate freely and without censorship. Rather than risk it going to court, it has simply been unblocked.

    lmao

I'd like the idiots who use bebo while people with course/project work wait for pcs to be kicked out of college.

Are you serious? Loads of schools use Websense etc to block sites like Bebo. In fact my secondary school was ridiculously unforgiving in what it would block.

In related news, Corrib Village appeared to have banned Bebo last week (nobody could get on it without using a proxy; other sites were fine). That took the piss as we pay to live here and use our own laptops etc. Appears to be unblocked now though.
